DI Checklist

Here is a checklist of items to take care of in the next few weeks before and during team meetings...

 

Veteran Team Managers - feel free to add, change, or delete!!  Or just add comments below.

 

 

 

  1. Notify parents of team membership - please do this ASAP!!
  2. Create an email notification list - email works well for keeping in touch with parents
  3. Attend training - next one on January 9th at South High School
  4. Hold a parent meeting to discuss:
    1. Meeting dates, times, location
    2. Tournament date:  March 20, 2010 at Eagle Crest High School - plan on ALL DAY!!
    3. Behavior expectations
    4. Attendance
    5. Snack schedule
    6. Materials purchasing
    7. Storage of props and sets (NOT at school!!)
    8. Discuss challenge(s)
  5. Secure a meeting site
    1. Contact classroom teachers first then check with Mr. Long
    2. 15 teams all competing for classroom space - good luck!
    3. Use your own home or parent's homes if needed - set up a schedule and alternate
    4. Please update the team info page with all information
  6. Hold your first meeting with kids
    1. Establish ground rules FIRST
    2. Engage in team-building activities
    3. Discuss the challenge
    4. Come up with a team name
    5. Develop a game plan and timeline
